3 Day Anzac Tour – 24th April to 26th April
 

Day 1 – Gallipoli Tour – Saturday 24th April 2010

Welcome to Turkey! Our ANZAC day tour starts in Istanbul optional from two different locations: At 06:30 a.m in front of the Central Palace Hotel in Taksim or at 07:00 a.m in front of the Hagia Sophia mosque in Sultanahmet.

We depart at 07:00 a.m. for Gallipoli (4,5 hours drive). Through our journey, we have a chance to watch the latest document on the Gallipoli Campaign. We will have a stop on the way down for supplies. Our tour stars from the Gallipoli Peninsula in the afternoon. The tour includes The Kabatepe War Museum, ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine (Australias Memorial and Cemetery), Quinns Post, Turkish 57th Regiment Cemetery, The Nek and Chunuk Bair (New Zealand’s Memorial and Cemetary). Before the tour we will have lunch. (not included)

By the end of the tour we drive to the coast of Kabatepe, for one of our optional service ANZAC BBQ and buffet dinner. At 09:30 p.m we will depar for the ANCAZ Dawn Service. Overnight at ANZAC Cove.If you prefer to stay in a hotel instead of staying outside at the ANZAC Commemorative Site overnight, we provide optional hotel accommodation at Gallipoli. But this option is not available after your arrival, you should book your accommodation before you arrive in Turkey.

Day 2 – Gallipoli Dawn Service – Sunday 25th April 2010

You should better bring your slleping bags, warm clothes, wet weather gear and torches with you. Because Gallipoli is still dark and cold today, same as it was 95 years ago when your achestors landed.

After the services, at 03:00 p.m we will depart from Gallipoli and drive back to Istanbul (4.5 hours drive). Overnight in Istanbul, dinner is not included.

Day 3 – Istanbul City Tour / Tour End – Monday 26th April 2010

Your Istanbul city tour starts optional from two different locations: At 09:30am in front of the Central Palace Hotel in Taksim or at 10:00am in front of the Hagia Sophia mosque in Sultanahmet.

TOPKAPI PALACE: The great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed. SULTANAHMET IMPERIAL MOSQUE: Across from St. Sophia built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, is known as the BLUE MOSQUE because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles. HIPPODROME: Ancient Hippodrome, the scene of chariot races, with the three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. Lunch break and then we head to the SPICE BAZAAR (Egyptian Bazaar) The air here is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other conceivable herb and spice.

After the tour you can join one of our optional tour “The Bosphorous Diner Cruise”. You will have the chance to enjoy magnificent views of Bosphorous which is connecting Asia to Europe.

Please make your own arrangements for departure or please let us know if you need airport transfer. We can arrange your transfer and it is extra of charge.
