5 Days Turkey Tour

Your journey through Turkey begins the moment you step off the plane in Istanbul. Our driver will be waiting in the arrivals hall with a sign bearing your name, ready to take you straight to your hotel. Once you've checked in, the rest of the day is yours — settle into your room and unwind after the flight. Later, at a time that works for you, your travel consultant will drop by the hotel to welcome you in person and talk you through the days ahead.

After breakfast, your guide will meet you in the lobby and lead you on foot into the heart of the old city. Over the course of the day you'll stand beneath the vast dome of Hagia Sophia, admire the graceful Blue Mosque, and walk through the ancient Hippodrome — home to the Obelisk of Theodosius brought from Egypt and the Serpentine Column from the Temple of Delphi. You'll also see the German Fountain, wander the opulent courtyards of Topkapi Palace, and dive into the colour and energy of the Grand Bazaar. Everything lies within easy walking distance, and at the end of the day you'll be driven back to your hotel.

An early start this morning: we'll transfer you from your hotel to the airport for the short flight to Cappadocia. Our representative will greet you on arrival and bring you to our office, where your full day exploring northern Cappadocia begins.

You'll visit the hilltop town of Uchisar, with its towering rock riddled with cave dwellings, and Urgup, famous for the fairy chimneys that have become a symbol of the region. From the lunar landscape of Devrent Valley you'll continue to Avanos, the pottery town that has shaped the area's red clay since Hittite times. The day's highlight is the Goreme Open-Air Museum, where rock-cut churches still guard some of the best-preserved frescoes in Turkey. The tour ends around 4:30 pm, leaving the rest of the evening free for you to wander the charming lanes of Goreme at your own pace.

If you're willing to rise before dawn, an optional hot-air balloon flight over Cappadocia is the kind of experience that stays with you for a lifetime — for many travellers, the highlight of the entire trip. After breakfast and check-out, your guide will collect you for a tour of southern Cappadocia.

You'll walk among the rose-tinted formations of Meskendir and Rose Valley, stopping to take in the scenery along the way, and visit the village of Cavusin with its dramatic cliffside cave houses. Pigeon Valley lives up to its name, and the sweeping panorama from Love Valley is one you won't forget. The afternoon brings something truly extraordinary: the Kaymakli Underground City, where you'll descend through level after level of rooms, wine cellars, tombs and stables carved out by communities thousands of years ago. Afterwards you'll be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Istanbul, where our representative will be waiting to take you to your hotel.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and an unhurried morning. Check-out is between 12:00 and 1:00 pm, and depending on your flight time the driver will be waiting in the lobby to take you to the airport — sending you home with a wealth of fresh memories from your five days in Turkey.
